Historic Walking Tour

Take a stroll back through time and discover the past of Franklin Ky’s historic downtown district.

In commemoration of America’s 250th birthday, Simpson County Tourism Commission will offer walking tours in Franklin’s downtown historic district.

Costumed tour guides will walk you through the tour and tell you about the events and businesses that have shaped Franklin for past 207 years.

Tour guides – Capt. John Simpson and Benjamin Franklin will tell you why Simpson County and the City of Franklin were named for their service to America’s history. Each of the four streets in the Historic Downtown District have seen many businesses come and go over the years,. Yet, “the square,” as it is fondly referred to by the locals, is still a vital part of life in Franklin today.
